The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao (A One-Man Play)

    Book jacket: THE BRIEF WONDROUS LIFE OF OSCAR WAO by Junot D’az. 2007

    Based on the book written by Junot Diaz, the play was adapted and directed by Elise Thoron, and presented by actor Kelvin Grullon.

    This play has been made possible through Literature to Life and by Young Audiences NY, and is being produced through the non-profit “Why Not Care” by YANY actors Michael Angel Viera aka “Power Malu” and Kelvin Grullon aka “Chico” from Chasin’Chico productions, and through the generosity of Teatro La Tea.

    The evening will also feature spoken word artists:

    DILSON HERNANDEZ – a spoken word star


    LA BRUJA – a spoken word legend

    as well as a COQUITO Showcase, DJ DP1 and a Cash Bar (i.e. bring cash)

    This evening is presented as a benefit charity event to raise money for Puerto Rico Hurricane Victims. All proceeds of this evening will be donated to the Organization WHY NOT CARE



    6:30p Doors Open

    7:20p Show Seating | 7:30p Show Begins Promoptly (intermission at 8p – no entry after intermission)

    Please note that there are no assigned seats. Seating will happen on a first come first served basis at the theater. When you arrive make sure to check in at the box office for further instructions.


    Please NOTE – the Donation ticket named “For the Cause (NO ENTRY/NO SEAT)” is a donation. It does NOT guarantee entry to the event, it does NOT guarantee a seat. That ticket type is intended for those guests that cannot come see the play, but would still like to donate to our cause for Puerto Rico.
